Resident Arts Group Partnership Programme

Introduction

Since 2018, our school has been collaborating with the resident art group, Axis Walker Creative Society, for seven years, with funding and matching support from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council’s “School and Arts Group Partnership Scheme.” Over these years, the team has hosted diverse art workshops for students. The makers’ hands-on creativity has permeated Tunhui, allowing students’ unique potential to be recognized, broadening their horizons and expanding their career interests and skills. We eagerly anticipate these projects every year, witnessing the students’ multifaceted growth and maturity.

  • In early 2018, the Makers from the Axis Walker Creative Society led students and parents in a hands-on crafting experience! Incorporating their passion for buses, the students designed and crafted small furniture pieces for their woodworking studio, creating a truly practical addition. The following year, the group led students out into the community for the “One Small Thing” project, sharing their dreams with the public and rewarding participants with crafts and coffee, fostering an inclusive and harmonious community. “One Small Thing” is more than just a small thing.

Communicating with the public
  • 2021-2022 The pandemic didn’t stop Morninghope students and the art group from their activities. They launched online digital drawing classes! Through instructional videos and online communication platforms, students began to experiment and adapt to this new self-learning model. This initiative not only encouraged many students who already enjoyed drawing to improve their creative skills and level, but also encouraged many budding artists to try their hand at painting. Furthermore, at the invitation of Kowloon Motor Bus, students created three short animated videos promoting safety precautions inside buses. Furthermore, to enhance the school’s ecological and environmental education, the art group held online workshops on raising wheat weevils and creating “Ecological Insect Life” animations.

  • 3. The 2023 School Drawing Team is ready to go! Thanks to the hard work of the arts group and Morninghope teachers and students, the long-awaited School Drawing Team has been established! Whether the team was invited by HSBC to illustrate the bank’s easy-to-understand financial guide, or became individual picture book artists, the students have interacted with people from different fields, expressed their work, and showcased it. We are delighted to see their rapid growth.
